RIM Campus Ambassadors spend much of their time looking for the top student talent on their school campus. They also dedicate time to hosting events and helping students get familiar with Research In Motion (RIM).

The events and activities our Campus Ambassadors may participate in include:

Information Booth

Research In Motion (RIM) information booths provide students with a great opportunity to learn about the student experience at RIM, as well as our many employment opportunities, including internships and co-op positions. The Campus Ambassador will be at the booth to answer questions, share their work term experience, or just chat about life and work at RIM.

Information Session

Our information sessions offer a detailed view of life at RIM and are advertised through each campus’ co-op or internship office as well as the Campus Ambassador. You will learn about our company, student positions, what you can expect during your work term, why it is such a great place to work, and what our recruiters are looking for in the ideal candidate. Current RIM employees and managers may be on-hand to talk about the company culture and the Campus Ambassador will share their experience as well.

BlackBerry Smartphone Thumb-typing Competitions

Have you typed on a BlackBerry® smartphone before? A BlackBerry smartphone thumb-typing contest is a competition where students face off in a battle of the fastest thumbs. The winning typist may receive a prize or upgrade their winnings by challenging the next competitor. Our Campus Ambassadors may put their own spin on the event, such as awarding the best prizes to the quickest times in a certain period.

Resume Writing, Applying Online and Interview Skills Workshops

RIM Campus Ambassadors typically organize and host a number of focused workshops to assist you with the RIM recruitment process:

  • Resume Writing: these sessions will teach you about what RIM recruiters and hiring managers are looking for when reviewing your application. Topics include understanding the core values of RIM, how to best highlight your experiences and the desired look and feel of your resume.
  • Applying Using the RIM Online System: in this workshop, your Campus Ambassador will take you through the steps of creating a profile, searching for jobs and applying to the best matches for you.
  • Interview Skills and Tips: your Campus Ambassador may offer a session to prepare you for your interview and provide helpful hints that are specific to employment at RIM.

New Hire Meet and Greet

New Hire Meet and Greet events are held by your Campus Ambassador and offer the opportunity to meet with fellow employees to learn about what to expect during your first days and throughout the term. You will have a chance to ask those tricky questions and share the excitement and concerns of other co-ops and interns from your school.
